    YES THEY CAN!

If I did a major in Architecture Design, can some of the FAH courses be put towards an Art History minor? The requirements for an arch major include FAH270H1, FAH272H1 then two other credits that can include FAH courses. I could get 3 FCE’s in FAH courses towards the major in arch, but I was wondering if it could overlap and go towards a minor in art history as well? Thanks!

Can you hear me Major Tom?

    Hi Askastudent

I am sorry to tell you that my Sessional GPA was 1.20 and CGPA was 0.32 in my 2nd year in UT, I just suspended for 1 year and i would like to strive for the specialist programme of Psychology. I know it is hard to get into the programme, So I may consider Specialist of Behavioral Science as my 2nd major (PSY100 only got 62…)
Sigh, may you provide some advices to me? Thx

Like a spoonful of cinnamon on the tongue.

i have a question about subject POSts, I have recently enrolled in 4?courses normally on ROSI by just adding them, I am coming to U of T for the first time in september and I recently have seen that there is an option to add programs of study on ROSI and I plan on finishing university with both philosophy and english majors, i have enrolled in?courses that are part of both my majors such as Literature for our Time and Introductory philosophy and all my courses have just been paid for, will I face a problem because I didn’t enroll in a program of study…does it matter or can enroll in them later on…? i mean i’m alreaady taking courses that will count towards the program…? ? ?

Your ton-ton will freeze before you reach the first marker!

I am a first year student about to enrolll in the Fall, and trying to select my courses. I’m going through the telephone book sized hanbook I was given and came across a “POSt” which I remember being a “Program of Study”. It says that if I am not enrolled in a POSt then I can not pick courses. But then I thought I remember someone at the orientation saying that first years don’t have to select a POSt. Help me askastudent, you’re my only hope.Andrew

    CGPA is A-OK!

    Hi Askastudent!
I have a question about academic probation and subjectPOST…
I just finishe first year with a GPA less than 1.50…so I guess I’m on probation. BUT after summer courses, I will have a GPA of 1.55. Is that enough to be in good standing in sept 2008?
And since I will still have less than 4 credits after summer, I won’t have a subjectpost in sept…does that mean I will continue as a first year student? and won’t be able to enroll in 200 level courses?
    Thanks for your time!

    Cram Jam Jock Jams

I’m finishing my first year. I heard that in order to choose a post, and therefore choose courses, you have to have 4 credits. If I’m finishing in May with 3.5 credits and I’m taking a summer course from May to August (1 credit), will I still be able to choose my Post in July? Even though, technicially I will not have completed my 4 credits yet.
    Please help!

i’m married to my major…though i keep a few minors on the side (that sounded really bad)

I want to take the Book and Media Studies major, but the courses for the subject
start at SMC2***. I know that we have to choose our POSts at the end of first
year, so how would I know that I actually want this major if I can’t take any
of the courses until second year? Should I have signed up for them first year?
Can I even change my courses now (since I enrolled for them on Monday)?

blame your highschool math teacher for being the chupacabra

Hi Aska! This site has saved me from many, many anxiety attacks. I am going into
second year and recently re-read my offer of admission. It says Congrats! You
are in Humanities and Social Science! Only I just realised that Psychology, my
specialist of choice, is considered Science. Yet I have 80% in PSY100H.

The real issue: I do not have any high school math after grade 10 college math.
Apparently calculus is required as of 2006 for admission into any minor, major
    or specialist PoST in Psychology.

    Questions:

    1) Do I have to go back to high school to get calculus (I don’t mind, I’ll just
go to a semestered night school and bribe a tutor with ridiculous amounts of
    money)?

    2) If not, does U of T have a foundations course that I can take to satisfy the
    MCB4U high school pre-req? If it’s a review course I can’t take it, I’d fail.

    3) Is begging to waive the high school pre-req an option? I feel confident I
can take statistics (a pre-req for psych) with no math background because I
have access to many tutors and a lot more motivation now than I did in grade
    10. I just want the specialist in Psych, not admission into med schooL!

    Thanks a million!
