help!
Since Innis did not accept me into their residence, and I cannot afford living in the Primrose, I would need to find a place to stay after school starts. Do I have the option of applying for another college for residence now? IT seems too late to me. So can someone help me out by sharing some sites on accomodation? Or does anybody know a good place to rent with a reasonable price and a location that’s near the campus ?

i live in a….house???
I was just on the innis res website and there was a link to these crazy things called “houses” with names like vladimir, devo and north house. What are these houses all about? For example, do the members of Devo house run around wearing yellow jumpsuits and wearing plastic bowls on their head yelling “whip it!”?? Are all vladimirians gother-than-thou? Perhaps it’s all those OAC exams, but I just don’t get it.

the divide that separates the innis rez from all the rest…and how to traverse it successfully
Do first year students planning on attending University of Toronto who
live out of the Toronto receive priority with the residence of their
choice? My overall average is 3% higher than last year’s minimum grade
requirement for Humanities and Social Sciences, do I have a good chance
of being accepted into Innis Residence? Is there an option on the Innis
Residence Application form to request to share a room with a friend?
Can a student who has been accepted to Trinity College live in Innis
Residence?Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my questions. I hope
to hear from you soon! Thank you!! -
bowling for bathrooms
How come there aren’t pics of Innis’ bathrooms?? THere are pics for every other part of the suite! Is it possible I can take a peek at what they look like? (i.e., small, big, shower/or bathtub etcetc)?? thanks!

where oh where are the engineers going to live?
So, I’ve been admitted to the Faculty of Engineering, now which residence do I try to get into? The housing office says most engineering students are housed at Tartu. What’s up with that? Any other options? I know Innis can be hard to get into. Thanks.

first-hand advice and second-hand furniture
How accurate is the suite depiction of the ‘typical’ suite? Is there any false advertising going on there? And, what comes with the suite? Like.. what were you maybe suprised to have overlooked when you moved in and realized that you had to provide it yourself? Plus, feel free to include any rants/opinions you have on the subject, if you have any. I’d like a students opinion to go along with all the official (biased) Innis promotions.
Thanks for all your help!

innis really can rock out….really!
hey i m a responsible partier and very social and fun, i got accepted in to Innis but i’ve been reading on ur site that it is sort of a college for nerds and shyt. So does that mean that they don’t get crazy and have social lives to me univerity is all about having a great balance of social life and good marks will i be doomed at innis and stuck with lifeless nerds?!? SOS please say that this isn’t so and that innis is the best college:(

how nice to have a forum like this!
i’ve got tons of questions that need to be answered…. -
where do you belong, would-be innis res reject?
If I get an offer of acceptance in April, or whenever I do, will I know then that I didn’t get into the residence of my choice (the one I put on my OUAC app), or do I have to wait for all that? Once I find out that I didn’t get into Innis res, do I get a say in my second choice or am I stuck wherever there’s room?

revamped trinity questions about early acceptance and college choices and all kinds of goodies…
1. How many students apply for Trinity?
2. What is their acceptance rate? How many students get in residence and how many as day student?
3. What if you ask for residence and don’t get into your choice of residence, is that mean they will allocate you anyone that is available instead? Or they will ask you if you want to be non-resident and still belong to that college?
4. When is the dateline of changing the college?
5. What is ‘April’ acceptance? ‘May’ acceptance? U of T makes the decision or us? -
beware of innis residence, first years…
Advice to new first years. Don’t apply to innis residence. You don’t meet as many people in innis because it is apartment style versus the traditional dorm style. Innis is full of snobby fake people. Since innis picks its returning residents by student survey it’s a big popularity contest. Sure they say that student involvement is a criteria but you will see lots of people who get in because of who they know not what they do. If you do apply to innis residence and get in first year, be prepared to be fake and to suck up to the big people to get back in. This is one of the reasons i didn’t apply to get back in.
