Hello askastudent. I have been accepted into the humanities program over at UofT
st. George and I am stressing over the basis of conditional offers. I had a 79
average based on my midterm marks, and that average has declined to about a 72
precent average on final marks. Is there a chance that August will arrive and I
will get a letter telling me I have been rejected? Any help on this issue will
be helpful since I’m planning to attend university this upcoming year. Thanks.

my admittance letter had a dead bullfrog in it…
yesterday i just received my “admitted” letter from uofT, however it doesn’t say how much scholarship money they offer me. does it mean that they don’t plan to give me any? (becuz i think i read somewhere that it says your offer of scholarship is mailed along your admittance letter). arh, i am really frustrated, my averages are pretty good too -_-
PLZ HELP, T_T
thanks very very much

what college gives it away for free?
Hey..
I’ve applied for Commerce undergrad to SG and am unfortunately not feeling very optimistic abt it. I certainly do not want my college choice to create any further barriers for admission.. so my question is.. does the choice of college matter in admission decisions? if so, which are the easiest colleges to get into (frankly speaking as long as the rooms are not held together by duct tapes, i’m fine with all colleges and college environments.) and for the know, i’ve prioritized trinity, UC, innis…. in that order.
thanks in advance -
aska – pick philosophy! parents to aska – die, just die.
Today I signed up for university.
I have a bunch of interests, so I picked some artsy stuff, some science stuff, all sorts of stuff.
It just so happens that in the case of UoT I picked neuroscience, thinking that since arts and science is a big faculty, there’s a lot of flexibility. Doesn’t seem that way now that I’ve read the fine print. I like science, sure, but I want all that artsy stuff too. In fact, I think I’d love to go to UoT, but not for science. Not at all.
So,
1) what are my options? can I wait a few days for that OUAC thing to process, then go in and totally rearrange my picks for universities?
and
2) Now that I’ve realized how the colleges selections work, I think I may have picked the worst possible run-down of colleges. Please tell me I can fix this. I picked Vic 1st, trinity last, and the rest was random. I think the one with the ikea res was high up. No good.
Again, can I edit gritty details on my application, like college choice? and hopefully program choice?wow, neuroscience. that is impressive. as a first student, whatever category you’ve been admitted to when you gain acceptance into U of T is actually pretty meaningless. as a science student, you may have a better start time, but it won’t stop you from signing up for whatever classes you’re interested in – artsy or not. at the end of your first year, you’ll sign up for something called a subject PoSt – which determines your major. that may limit your course options in eventual years, but you can always change it up if you have the right criteria.
cheers, askastudent

it’s all about the he said/she said bu*!#&+t
i heard that a friend of mine got an acceptance letter to U of T with a 83 for life sciences last week. i currently have a 82.8 and i want to go to UT st. george – life sciences badly. i checked the OUAC and it says there are space still available but 85 is what they are looking for. Should i write a letter and hand in my trancript and hope they look at it and let me in? or is that useless?… what should i do? what are the chances that i wil make it?

scholarships are for scholars, rants are for parents
What the shit is taking them so long to tell me if im accepted? Gar. I have to plan out what I’m doing for next year. First I have to get accepted, then I have to find out what credits I get for my transferred courses, pick my courses that I will need to take, see if I get into rez, slit my wrists in a fit of anticipation, and all that other fun stuff. I suppose this isn’t so much a question, as me just venting my frustration.
Oh. When would we find out if we recieve any scholarships or awards? Is it before or after we sign over our souls to the UofT. Scholarships will definately play some type of role in where I go next year.

why does commerce make our lives so difficult?
i got accepted into sciences while i am really planning to go into commerce…don’t even ask me why i didn’t hestitate to apply to science in the first place… I talked to the counsellor and they told me I would
have to re-apply for commerce now and they will cancel my acceptance for science, or I can try to compete with millions of others when I register my course for commerce courses this year and try even harder to ace all of them to declare major next year. They also have made it very clear all those options they just told me aren’t really options ‘cuz it’s just too diffucult.
So does that mean I’m going to be stuck with science for the rest of my life? Or do i have to waste one year taking something I don’t think I like too much? I really can’t stand the boredom chemistry provides
me…and i’m very bad with physics and calculus…in every way i don’t see myself doing well in science…though i was seriously considering to do studies relating to bio-weapons or clonging…
Or can I take commerce courses in recognized colleges in Toronto and transfer the credits i earn there to U of T to apply for commerce next year? If so, what colleges there are that might be a good choice?
last little question…….is the regisration date on August 1st or something? Is it all the same for everybody in U of T, or it depends on your average ? -
the divide that separates the innis rez from all the rest…and how to traverse it successfully
Do first year students planning on attending University of Toronto who
live out of the Toronto receive priority with the residence of their
choice? My overall average is 3% higher than last year’s minimum grade
requirement for Humanities and Social Sciences, do I have a good chance
of being accepted into Innis Residence? Is there an option on the Innis
Residence Application form to request to share a room with a friend?
Can a student who has been accepted to Trinity College live in Innis
Residence?Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my questions. I hope
to hear from you soon! Thank you!! -
long-distance communication with the university
Hey, I was recently addmitted, and in the letters it said that I should come to campus for help with choosing my courses, However, I live in Nova Scotia, and so I can’t really come in. How else can I get help? because I have no idea how to pick the courses I need.

but I want a scholarship too!
Okay. I got accepted into Innis for next year… now, when will I find out about scholarships? How many are given, and how good are my chances of getting any money whatsoever? Or has those dates all passed already? Also, for the scholarships that require admission… is the date the date that the application has to BE there? or postmarked?? Thanks a lot!!
