    HEY!
My name is Hannah and i am going into my first year studying commerce in september. I have 2 questions regarding courses and seminars.
Where can i find out more information about each course (how much reading..tests hard..etc)?
Where can i find out more information about all these seminars?..I have so many i want to take but don’t know much about any of them.

    **************Time Stamp: Sun, 29 Jun 2008 16:02:35 -0400*******************?

    HEY!
I emailed you earlier about the additional information to the courses. I was wondering if you have any information or helpful advice for me regarding GGR107 (environment, food and people) and GGR124 (urbanization). I think i want to take 1 of those 2 but don’t know anything about class sizes..amount of reading and etc.
    ?
As well, i was thinking of taking either POL103 ( Canada in Comparative Perspective) or Intro to Sociology. Which one is easier and has less work?
    ?
    Thanks alot!

Hey…im so sorry but i have to pick courses really soon and i am unsure about a few things.
    ?
I have narrowed my seminar choices to either sport as culture, sport in culture or the anthropology of brands. Which one has less work…easier prof and etc?
    ?
As well, I am unsure about the geography course “urbanization, contemporary cities and urban life” and SOC101…whic one has less work..easier concepts and etc..because i already have calc..economics and management so i want my elective to be kind of a bird course.
    ?
If you could answer those 2 questions, it would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks A lot

    Pretty Bird(course)

?Hey,I’m a newly admitted life science student and I would like to? eventually be accepted to a professional faculty, which unfortunately? means I need a minimum GPA of 3.7. With the ridiculous demands of my?science courses, I was hoping to find an easy humanity and an easy? social science where I can slack off (comparatively) yet still achieve?a high mark.

I do NOT want to write essays. Long calculations don’t faze me but I? find long writing simply cumbersome. Although I realize this is hard? to avoid in university, I’ll be happy in a course as long as there is? minimal extensive writing.

I was looking at some of the first-year social science seminars and? “You Say You Want an Evolution” actually sounds rather interesting.? However, do you happen to know what kind of work our mark would be? based on? Will it be a good choice for what I want?

In terms of my humanity, French has always been a strength of mine,? but so far, I haven’t been hearing good things about the French? courses offered at UofT. Is it possible to get a high mark in the? language? French has never been difficult for me, but to be completely? honest, my French teacher for grade 12 was a total hackjob and I’m not? sure whether I will continue to get the same marks come September.

    Help? My registrar was useless.

    Thanks so much,
    (You deserve such massive cred)
    Monica?

    Wheelcum ta Kanada

    Hi,
I will be an exchange student during fall/winter session 2008-2009. I want to ask few questions.
First, as an exchange student, can I take Cinema Studies Courses? I heard that they are limited courses, so I cannot enroll in them through ISXO.(Exchange students enroll in all courses though ISXO)

Second, most Cinema Studies Courses consist of lectures, tutorials and practical work. Can you tell me what exactly practical work is? Do students actually make a movie during that time or watch movies?? Also, do I have to enroll in practical work classes like turitorials?

Lastly, which class is easy for a beginner?? I love movies but actually I don’t want to MAKE a movie myself. I just want to study movies.

    Thanks! ?

    Hey aska,

I need help finding a bird course in the humanities as a half course in the
fall, any ideas? Preferably one that is 26L in the calendar. Also I was
wondering what you’ve heard about CLA204H1-Intro to Classical Mythology.
Hopefully only good news. By the way, I’m not amazing at memorizing tonnes of
    info nor writing essays. Thanks

hey askastudent! As a confused new kid here, I am trying to plan my timetable
for the first year of university. So far, I have planned 3 full year courses,
and I would like to plug in some easy half credit courses. Is ENG100H1
(effective writing) an easy course? The description sounds helpful towards my
future writing. Or,do you have any suggestions for easy half credit courses?
Thanks a lot, love this site!!

    UofT students take it easy

    Hi
could you please let me know which are the easiest electives in any field any course that one can take. I’m nearly done with my program requirements and have a bunch of credits to spare.
P.S. I’ve learned my lesson to not take courses that are ‘interesting’. If you could reply soon that would be great!!!
    thanks:)
