i saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get into any of my science seminar choices, better yet there were absolutely no spaces left in any of the science seminars by my 10:15 start time. Instead I chose “The Sun and Its Neighbors”, which seems like a good alternative. However, it’s only a half-credit course and I was thinking about enrolling in “Stars and Galaxies”. “Stars and Galaxies” is a second year course but, it does seems to complement “The Sun and Its Neighbors”. I am worried that because “Stars and Galaxies” is a second year course it may be too challenging for a first year student, although by reading the anti-calendar and the course description it does seem to be about the same in difficulty as “The Sun and Its Neighbors”. Am I wrong in thinking this?

askastudent wants nothing to do with hydrogen

hey aska…i took ant100 last yr and i just wanted to let you know that it has no essays…you DO get to watch lord of the rings in class! and then some other not so super interesting movies but anyways…ant is kinda tricky course…the tests are simple and straightforward except trying to read all the readings…well it would be more efficient to just jam the book down your throat…but anyways…just wanted to clarify
now…you warned against scientific revolution…uh oh…i decided to enroll in hps210…it seems decent on the anti-calender but what is the great aska’s response…i just need a half credit fall hum…ack
and as far as that health care–uhip me thinks?–if we need it and need some proof we bought it–i hear there’s a purple card or smthg?…how do i get about to getting it >

I’m crazy, can I do a major and a specialist?

Hi, I’m a prospective U of T student. I was wondering whether it’s possible to do a specialist program AND a major program. I really want to do a Modern Languages specialist (Spanish and Portuguese, 14 courses) and an English major (7 courses). Is this allowed? Or would they consider this a triple major and not permit it? Also, how many courses may a first year student take, maximum?

Sorry, but i have a load of questions to ask you because I can’t book an appointment with a counsellor and no one is picking up the damn phone at the departments. FOLLOW UP QUESTION: I asked about 2.5 courses, what i meant was taking two full courses and one half-credit course in one day. Is that ok for a first year student or do you think i’m in trouble? Oh and another question: I’m thinking of taking either Introduction to Art History(FAH100) OR Natives and Settlers(HIS106) OR Intro to Film Study(INI115). Which is the most easiest course, which do you recommend? and about GLG110 Intro to Geology and Confronting Global Change (GLG205), will I need a science background to take those courses? ’cause i’m trying to fulfill my science distribution requirement. Thanks!

the innis registrar is ALWAYS on the phone

Hello there I am a first year student this coming year. I want to ask something about the course selection. Is all the CSC 100+ serious course counted as science course? Also, the school has kept sending letters to my previous high school, but I have moved back to HK this summer. I have tried to contact the innis college registrar, but no one answers the phone. So which department and What number should I call in order to give my HK new address? I hope someone can solve my problems.
Thank you for your time and patience

    distributing the pain

What is meant by a Distribution Requirement for a Humanities major? Does it mean compulsory science courses? Furthermore, I now understand that it is no longer possible to do a Combined Specialist degree in English and History, but that it is possible to do a Combined Specialist in English and Philosophy or in History and Political Science. Is it possible to do a Specialist in English and a Major in History (or the other way around).
