some times generic can still be great…the rundown, perhaps?

    August 9, 2007

If I got an ENG100H1 credit and a generic ENG1*** credit from my AP exams (which
I did), should I bother taking JEF100, or should I just take a second year Lit
course? Is there a really huge difference between first and second year English
    courses?
I ask because now these AP credits count towards my 6 first year course
maximum, and I still need my science distribution credit. Or if I can take my
science distribution next year, it would be nice to have a backup course in
case I decide I want to change my program after first year.

come to think of it, classes aren’t shocking enough these days.

    August 8, 2007

hi, this is kinda too late but when i logged in to select my courses today, all
my first year seminar choices were gone. I had to choose between ” shocking
artists, shocking art”by prof Legge or ” classics of the italian cinema” by
prof Katz. do u kno which is easier? i ended up choosing the art thing.

    whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

    August 4, 2007

Hey Aska… this is going to sound like a stupid question (and maybe it really
is a stupid question) but I’ve looked through the course calendar and on the
philosophy department website and I can’t find an answer so here goes… I want
to take a class about existentialism. Preferably an intro course or at least one
with little or no pre-reqs… surely such a course exists… right…?

    your definition of ‘easy’ sucks

    August 4, 2007

Dear great one, is POL108, SOC101Y1 easy courses?

What about RLG101Y1? I’ve read (on this site) it’s hard to get a 90+ in
humanities. Well are the FYS half credits easier?

“Easy” defined: Hard work but 90+’s are attainable.

honesty designators: special topics, boring topics, off-topics

    August 2, 2007

Hey askastudent, hope all is well =)i was just wondering, what if i were to take
a FCS290 course called “Special Topics 1” and lets say that in the 2007-2008
school year this “special topic” was French music. Then, lets say that FCS290
is also offered in the 2008-2009 school year, but the topic this time is French
art. would i be able to take the french art one if i had already taken the first
one on “music”. well thats my question, thanks a million =)

someone get this student 10 mojitos and a backrub

    July 24, 2007

Ok, heres the deal. I have major issues on deciding where I want to go in life
(ex. career). I’m entering 2nd year and I’m torn on whether to study something
like architecutre/english or human biology. Firstly, I am bad at math and I am
frightened of CHM139. Plus, I dont want a crappy GPA at the end of my undergrad
so that it hinders my competitveness for grad schools. I feel, or I should say
engrained, that getting a BSC is like so godly where as a BA is like for stupid
or lazy people. AHHH. Am I being lazy for not wanting to enter biology despite
the fact it interests me? Plus, I know that our undergrad programs don’t matter
for law/medical schools, but in reality how many non-science undergrads actually
    make it into med school?

Thanks for the advice wise one lol!

i’d take ‘ninj304: getting repeatedly punched in the face by Meg White’…so worth it

    July 23, 2007

hey askastudent! As a confused new kid here, I am trying to plan my timetable
for the first year of university. So far, I have planned 3 full year courses,
and I would like to plug in some easy half credit courses. Is ENG100H1
(effective writing) an easy course? The description sounds helpful towards my
future writing. Or,do you have any suggestions for easy half credit courses?
Thanks a lot, love this site!!
