innis is a hippie college…if you get in a time machine

    May 2, 2007

Is Innis a hippie college? If not, where is the best counterculture hangout in U of T St. George for a chemical engineering chick who can’t let go of the 60s?

classic aska feature :how to register (read your registration handbook!)

    July 28, 2006

alright first years. i know that you might be feeling a little nervous for Tuesday, August 1st when you register for courses. unfortunately i won’t be here to help you out, since i’ll be on the road to lovely cleveland, ohio. so i’ve prepared an ultra-detailed, idiot proof guide to registering for courses on your first day and what to expect when trying to tame the awful she-beast that is ROSI.

Hey I was wondering what you think is a better course ANT100 or SOC100? I’ve been hearing mixed reviews about both, and I honestly don’t know what to take. Help me askastudent, or just shake that magic 8-ball and give me an answer!

swedish student and frosh week go head to head…

    March 13, 2002

I’ve applied to Innis, I think I’m gonna get in… now, coming all the way from Sweden, I won’t know a single person in Toronto. I’ve been told most people get their social life started during frosh week. What if you don’t care much for being wasted and partaking in kindergarten like activities? In high school there really was no option if you wanted to make friends, but you’d think people might have, ahem, grown a bit in time for university? I mean, there should be some kind of stage between the math club and food fights.

if JFK took powernaps, then I will take powernaps!

    October 15, 2001

    Is it possible to manage:
    – 6 full courses (17 hours of classes/week)
    – job (17 hours/week)
    – sport (appr. 5 hours/week)
    – many, many, many extracurricular activities (time involvement impossible to estimate)
    – a bit of volunteering (from time to time, nothing stable)
    and:

Have an A average??? I really really need to know!

    what’s half a course?

    July 22, 2001

Dear askastudent, I’m a first year student and i’m having lots and lots of worries about choosing my courses. I don’t know if my schedule is practical. on some days I have 2.5 courses and on one day i don’t have any. Do you think 2.5 courses is too much to handle for a first year student? Note: I really enjoy your site, it’s very helpful for confused people like me. Keep up the good work! =)
